I support my clients to explore their patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours that may no longer be serving them. I offer an holistic and comprehensive approach to therapy to support your goals and needs using a variety of therapeutic modalities.
My areas of focus include supporting neurodivergent individuals including those with ADHD and Autism (Level 1). I am primarily Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) oriented; however, I welcome other modalities like Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness CBT, Positive Psychology and Polyvagal Theory.
What are these modalities?
1. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT emphasizes helping people manage mental health conditions like anxiety and depression by changing how people think and behave.
2. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
DBT has been adapted from CBT to help people learn to manage their emotions and make positive changes in their life.
3. Mindfulness CBT
Mindfulness CBT is a combination of CBT, meditation and the cultivation of a present-oriented, non-judgmental attitude called mindfulness. Mindfulness is the act of consciously focusing the mind in the moment without judgement and attachment.
4. Positive Psychology
Positive Psychology helps people focus on their strengths, increase gratitude, increase awareness and connection to others.
5. Polyvagal Theory
The Polyvagal Theory emphasizes the role that our Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) especially the vagus nerve, plays in regulating our health and behaviour. This approach can help people with anxiety, PTSD, Trauma and even Autism.
1. The initial Consult
I will meet with you virtually and discuss your reasons for seeking out therapy as well as your primary goals for therapy. This 15 min free consult is not only to talk about your goals but also to determine if we are a good fit for each other. If we both decide that we are a good fit, then your first session will be booked.
2. First Session
At our first session, we will review paperwork including consent forms and go through an intake form. The intake form will help me to understand you, your background and current reasons for seeking therapy so I can deliver the best, tailored therapy for you.
1. How long does therapy take?
The answer to this is dependent on a variety of factors including the reasons for seeking therapy, your goals for therapy and your engagement in the process.
I accept payment in a variety of ways:
1. Credit Card (Visa / Mastercard)
2. Insurance companies
3. Sliding scale upon request and verification
