What to Expect in Therapy
Therapy looks a little different for everyone — and that’s exactly how it should be. Through a collaborative, supportive therapeutic relationship, we’ll work together toward your personal goals at your own pace.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and conducted through a secure video platform or by phone, depending on your preference and comfort.
I support clients in exploring the patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may no longer be serving them. By increasing awareness and understanding, we can begin to make meaningful changes that align with your goals and values.
My work is grounded in a holistic and comprehensive approach, drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities to support your individual needs.
1. Free Initial Consultation (15 Minutes)
Your healing journey begins with a free 15-minute virtual consultation. This is a chance for us to talk about:
This time is just as much for you as it is for me. If we both feel aligned after the consult, we’ll go ahead and schedule your first full session.
During your first 50-minute session, we’ll begin by reviewing your intake forms and consent documents. This helps me get a clearer understanding of your background, current challenges, and what you hope to achieve through therapy.
This session sets the foundation for our work together, allowing me to tailor a therapeutic approach that suits you.
Life can be overwhelming, and reaching out for support takes courage. I work with individuals and families navigating a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. My approach is warm, trauma-informed, and tailored to each person’s unique experiences and goals.
I draw from evidence-based practices—including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and attachment-based approaches—while creating a compassionate, collaborative space where healing and growth can happen.
Psychotherapy can be a powerful and supportive path to improving mental well-being. Through talk therapy and evidence-based techniques, I offer a holistic and personalized approach to care. My work is grounded in a comprehensive understanding of the whole person—mind, body, and environment. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-Based approaches, to support your unique goals, values, and needs.
Chronic illness and chronic pain impact not just the body—but also the mind and spirit. Living with ongoing health challenges can lead to increased stress, anxiety, and depression. I offer individual therapy to support you in navigating the emotional and psychological effects of chronic conditions. Together, we’ll work on building coping strategies, improving resilience, and finding balance in the midst of uncertainty.
As someone who is neurodivergent myself, I offer support that’s grounded in both lived experience and clinical understanding. I recognize that every neurodivergent person has unique strengths, challenges, and preferences—and I work with you to honour and accommodate those. Whether you're navigating sensory sensitivities, executive functioning difficulties, or communication differences, I offer tailored, compassionate strategies to support your well-being in a way that truly fits you.
As a mom of two neurodivergent children, I understand firsthand how complex, challenging, and sometimes overwhelming parenting can be. I offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your parenting journey and feel truly supported. Together, we’ll navigate the ups and downs, build stronger relationships with your children, foster healthy family dynamics, and promote positive, developmentally appropriate growth—for both your kids and yourself.
Group therapy provides a supportive space for individuals facing similar challenges to connect, share, and grow together. In a therapist-led setting, group members have the opportunity to feel less alone, gain insight, and develop effective coping strategies. Together, we work on building resilience and exploring new perspectives—whether the focus is on anxiety, depression, trauma, or other shared experiences. Group therapy fosters a sense of community, validation, and collective healing.
Wellness workshops offer a supportive and educational space to build coping skills, address specific mental health and wellness concerns, and foster meaningful community connections. These workshops focus on topics such as anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and stress management. Participants have the opportunity to learn evidence-based strategies, practice helpful techniques, and connect with others who share similar experiences—all in an inclusive, growth-oriented environment.
